Asian Food Primer: Cambodian Food

The small Southeast Asian nation of Cambodia enjoys a rich variety of seafood from the ocean, the Mekong River, and the Tonle Sap Lake. Chopsticks are generally used.

Common ingredients:

Baby Squid

seafood (especially squid), rice, sweet potatoes, coconuts, pineapple, onions, chili peppers, oranges, bananas, tomatoes, corn

Popular dishes:

stir-fried squid, steamed or fried rice with fish, roasted sunflower seeds, fish paste, fish sauces
